Skiinh/snowboarding lessons on tap in January

| January 3, 2012 6:00 AM

SANDPOINT — January is National Learn a Snowsport Month and Schweitzer Mountain Resort is getting involved. For first time skiers and boarders Schweitzer is offering a $39 beginner lesson package that includes rentals, lesson and a beginner lift ticket. This deal is valid anytime during January, and is a great way to get involved with the life-long sports of skiing or snowboarding.

For those participants who fall in love after their first lesson Schweitzer will offer second and third follow-up lessons. Guests who complete all three lessons will get a free spring pass and the opportunity to purchase discounted rental gear.

“We’re excited about joining the National Learn a Snowsport Program this season,” said Terry McLeod, Schweitzer’s Snowsport School Director. “We believe we’ve created a package that makes it affordable and easy to get started skiing and snowboarding — and enjoy the health benefits of being active in the wintertime.”

Another great learn-to option for adult skiers who are ready to take their ability to the next level is the Nice Turns program. This four or eight week program builds on a foundation, teaching basic skills and then integrating more complex skills. Both programs start in early January.
