Jensen, Tupper post big games for Thunder

KOOTENAI — Taylor Jensen posted a double-double to lead the Kootenai Thunder boys basketball team to a 52-39 win over Christian Heritage in Mountain Christian League action in Edwall, Wash.

Jensen did some yeoman work, posting 26 points and 17 rebounds, and Shayne Jensen and Sam Silberman added eight apiece. Johnny Soderberg added six point points, and Joel Crosby and Jake Maynard two each.

The Thunder boys followed that up with a 41-22 win over Columbia River, as Shayne Jensen carried the load with 19 points and seven boards. Crosy and Tommy Blair added six each, and Jake Maynard four.

On Tuesday, Jensen nailed five 3-pointers en route to 21 points, and Tucker Davis added 19 points and 7 rebounds, but the Thunder fell 68-56 to the Christian Center Lions in Hayden. Silberman added 10 points and eight rebounds, and Johnny Soderberg four points in defeat.

The Thunder girls also traveled to Edwall, falling 62-48. Christine Tupper continues to carry the scoring load, dropping in 26 points in defeat, while Josie Saganski added 10 points, Joyce Blair six, and Taryn Osman, Tessa Murray and Hali Aller added two each.

On Tuesday, the Thunder girls lost 48-30 to the Lions in Hayden. Scoring for the Thunder were Blair with 14 points, Tupper eight, Saganski six, and Tessa Murray with two.
