Festival owed kudos for music education

| May 13, 2012 7:00 AM

A huge thank you should go out to The Festival at Sandpoint and all its supporters for the work they do in enhancing music education for the youth in this community.

The Barrage concert at the Panida Theater recently was yet another example of the Festival’s work in our community. It was an inspirational success for all 55 young string players who participated in the workshop and performed in the program and for all the children and adults who were in the audience watching and listening.

The Festival, together with the efforts of Karen Digan, The Sandpoint Waldorf School and Eichardt’s Pub, contributed enough support to make this world-renowned group available to our community at affordable enough ticket price to fill the theater. My violin students came to their lessons today, inspired anew as a result of their experience with Barrage. Thank you to all who helped make that happen!
