Non-profit dedicated to education, freedom

| May 24, 2012 7:00 AM

In your May 13 editorial, you wrote, “We are worried the Idaho Freedom Foundation and the other folks who have funded (legislative candidate Pam) Stout’s campaign see her as a way to push their narrow agenda.” This statement, that IFF is involved in the financing of campaigns, is not correct. The Idaho Freedom Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit educational organization. The Idaho Freedom Foundation does not fund candidates or their opposition. IFF does not endorse candidates. We do not assist in the election or defeat of candidates for office.

What we do is research issues, review legislation for free market and freedom properties, publish voting and spending records and write about public policy matters at IdahoReporter.com. We also ask candidates to fill out a survey on fiscal issues. All of our information is available for use by the general public. We do not participate, directly or indirectly, in how such material is used in political contests. Finally, we’d note that our “agenda” is not narrow at all. We believe everyone benefits in an environment where economic freedom prevails. For more information on what we do and why we do it, go to www.idahofreedom.net.
