Three cheers for the Sandpoint Elks

Three cheers for the Elks Club. I want to share my appreciation for the Elks and all they do for our area youth. This summer both of my kids were fortunate to take part in the wonderful kids’ golf clinics hosted by the Elks. The volunteers were terrific in organizing the clinics, sharing their knowledge of golf, and spreading their message with the kids about staying away from drug use.

At the end of her clinic, my daughter received a brand new set of clubs — hers to keep. All the Elks asked for was perfect attendance, and they got it. How about the Elks cash awards given to hard-working 4H kids for their project record books?

Elks members spent hours looking through the books, then gave the kids cash for their efforts. All they asked for was some quality work, and they got it.

Where in the world do things like this happen? They happen only here in North Idaho, and give us two more reasons why we love where we live.
