Group's arrival would improve health care

| June 1, 2014 7:00 AM

If Planned Parenthood were to establish a clinic in Bonner County it would improve the fabric of health care, contrary to Mr. Welch’s recent letter. Ninety percent of the services provided by Planned Parenthood clinics are not abortion services. They include education, contraception, cancer screening, and detection and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases. While some such services may not be in short supply in north Idaho, affordability and accessibility remain issues incompletely addressed by recent health care reform.
