NIC collision repair tech students earn honors

Two North Idaho students were among those earning state and national honors in the SkillsUSA competition.

North Idaho College student Jacob Jasso of Coeur d’Alene took a 14th place finish in the nation in the Automotive Refinishing competition at the SkillsUSA nationals in Louisville, Ky., recently.

Jasso was one of two students in NIC’s Collision Repair Technology program who took home medals in the SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Conference held in Nampa, Idaho, in April.

Also earning honors at the state competition was Willie Winget of Ponderay. At the state contest, Winget earned a bronze medal in the collision repair competition.

Jasso earned a gold medal in the automotive refinishing competition.
