Brad Thomas Amelino, 53

Brad Thomas Amelino, 53, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 10, 2017, in Sandpoint, Idaho.

A gathering and celebration of life will be held at Sam Owen State Park in Hope, Idaho, on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2017, at 2 p.m. with a flotilla between 5:30 and 6 p.m.

If you have a watercraft, please considering bringing it to help accommodate all those who are participating. There will be some watercraft available. We will be collecting blankets, coats, and clothing in memory of Brad’s continuing work with the First Nation People.

Brad was born on Sept. 22, 1963, in Los Angeles, Calif., to Louie and Jean Amelino.

He grew up and attended schools in Sunnyvale, Calif.

Brad lived life large and was a free spirit.

He moved to Sandpoint in the late 1980s. Although he lived in many other places, he always returned to Sandpoint.

He lived a very large and magnanimous life, doing so in his own driven way. His loves varied from traveling the world to spending peaceful time being one with nature.

He is survived by countless family and friends, including his son Kelton (Amanda) Hague of Idaho Falls; three grandsons, Eliot, Mason, and Liam; two sisters, Gina (Michael) Amelino-Flack of Sunnyvale, and Lynnai Deane of Rio Rancho, N.M.; a niece, Miranda, and nephews, Anthony and Nicholas; and an uncle, Victor Amelino of Ojai, Calif.
