Avoiding identity theft explored at Lifetree Café

| August 18, 2017 1:00 AM

Practical ways to protect yourself from identity theft will be revealed at Lifetree Café on Monday, August 21, at 2 p.m.

The program — titled “They Hijacked My Life! How Vulnerable Are You to Identity Theft?” — features a filmed interview with identity-theft expert John Sileo.

“If you have a Social Security number, a credit card, a bank account, or you own a home, you’re vulnerable,” says Sileo. “Anyone who has one of these is ripe for identity theft.”

Sileo is the author of “Stolen Lives: Identity Theft Prevention Made Simple” and regularly appears on NBC, ABC, and Fox to provide tips and techniques for protecting confidential personal information from theft online, through the mail, and elsewhere in life.

Admission to the 60-minute event is free. Lifetree Café is located at Tango Café In Columbia Bank, 414 Church, Sandpoint.

Lifetree Café is a place where people gather for conversation about life and faith in a casual, comfortable setting. Questions about Lifetree may be directed to Stan at 208-304-6465 or Gerri at 208-946-6938.
