The impact of homelessness on children will be explored at Lifetree Café on Monday, Dec. 11, at 2 p.m.

The program, titled “Children with No Place to Call Home: Helping Kids in Crisis,” features a filmed interview with Jennifer Herrera, director of the Colfax Community Network, an organization dedicated to serving children and families living in rundown motels in the heart of Denver, Colo.

“These children are living in situations that are absolutely dangerous,” Herrera says. “Some of them know things that some of us have never experienced, never wish to experience, and should never experience.”

During this program, participants will have an opportunity to discuss ideas for helping address the issue of child homelessness.

Admission to the 60-minute event is free. Lifetree Café meets on Mondays at the Selkirk Association of Realtors Building, 325 Marion Ave., Sandpoint.
