Third quarter proves costly for Wampus Cats

COEUR d’ALENE — North Idaho Christian used a press out of halftime, helping the Royals outscore visiting Clark Fork 21-6 in the third period en route to a 45-34 nonleague win Monday night in boys basketball at Holy Family Catholic School.

Cross Pilgrim led NICS with 23 points and 14 rebounds while Jordan Holmes added 10 points for the Royals (9-0), who remained unbeaten despite trailing by two at half.

Kobe Banks led the Wampus Cats with 9 points and Theo Icardo added two in the loss, as the third quarter barrage proved too much to overcome.

Clark Fork (0-4) will face the Sandpoint J2 team tonight, at 7 p.m. following the Wampus Cat varsity girls game at 5:390 p.m.
