This is a follow-up of my article on the high cost of college books, some in the $200-$300. I had gotten the runaround from the Governor’s Office and the Idaho Department of Education. It appears they just don’t care.

I had asked our state senator, Shawn Keough, to look into it and the same thing happened to her. She told me, “The State Board of Education, does not seem interested in trying to rectify the situation. And the institutions tell us legislators that since state funding is only about one-fourth of their budget that we don’t have much say over them.” She is still after them, but she says she is hitting a brick wall.

Iit appears to me that the Idaho Department of Education people seem to think they are a bunch of big shots who answer to no one. Maybe, it is time for a regime change. They have sure lost support from me. Next time I get a call from the University of Idaho for a donation, I am going to tell them to go fly a kite. It is time for people with kids in college to revolt and make your voices known.
