PONDERAY — Five people were injured when a driver went off the eastbound edge of Highway 200 early Saturday.

Idaho State Police said Joseph R . Tucker, 53, of Idaho Falls was driving a white 2010 Chevy Impala when he crossed left of the centerline and went off the roadway in the 33000 block of Highway 200 east of Ponderay at about 5:30 a.m. Tucker then drove over Hidden Harbor Lane and down the embankment, ISP said in a press release.

Four juvenile passengers in the Impala were also injured. One male juvenile was flown to Sacred Heart Medical Center by Life Flight while everyone else was transported to Bonner General Health. While Tucker was wearing a seatbelt, ISP officials said it was unknown whether the passengers were wearing seatbelts.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
