It seems that everyone has Bibles they haven’t seen in a long time. Perhaps they’ve been lingering on a shelf or in a drawer. Now is the time to share them with people who have been hoping and praying to receive a Bible of their own.

First Presbyterian Church of Sandpoint is the local collection site for the Bible Foundation in Newberg, Ore. For 30 years, the foundation has been collecting and distributing Bibles to ministries in the United States and, to date, 30 countries around the world.

According to founder Jerry Kingery, the condition of the Bible is not important. They accept new, used, damaged and even portions of Bibles He added that the need is great and the recipients will be thrilled to put donations to good use.

First Presbyterian Church invites individuals and churches to join them in this ongoing effort. Bibles can be dropped off at the church office at 417 N. Fourth Ave., Sandpoint, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; or call Anna Bates at 208-263-8126 to make other arrangements. What a great opportunity for all to work together to spread God’s word.
