Libraries serve up the perfect complement to any summer activity

| June 16, 2017 1:00 AM

One of the great things about library bingeing is that you can do it anywhere and it complements other summertime activities, such as sunbathing and boating. Even if the weather is bad, you can still derive intense satisfaction from hours of bingeing. Whether you love to chain-read book after book or burn through five seasons of a TV show in 24 hours, you can binge guilt-free with your library card anytime, anywhere.

I am going to dish out a short list of some of the hottest titles of summer 2017, all of which are in the library’s collection. Most of the book titles below are available in various formats including eBook, CD, Playaway, eAudiobook, paperback, and large print. Search the movie and TV show titles in our catalog for DVDs or stream from Hoopla in the digital library*.

Books:

- “At the Water’s Edge” by Sara Gruen

- “Borne” by Jeff VanderMeer

- “Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine” by Gail Honeyman

- “My Not So Perfect Life” by Sophie Kinsella

Movies:

- “A Dog’s Purpose” with Dennis Quaid
