Building a better world at the library

| June 30, 2017 1:00 AM

You may recall my mentioning that the 2017 national Summer Reading program theme is “Build A Better World.”

All of our teen and youth programs through July and August will thus be tied to that “building” theme. How fitting is that?! With ground breaking starting next week on Your Library Transformation (the remodel and expansion of the Sandpoint Branch), building is on our brains!

The status quo at The Library will be challenged this summer with a full schedule of events and a big construction project. Here are a few tips for staying in the loop:

1. Keep following this column.

2. Subscribe to our newsletter for monthly updates and really useful content. Go to eBonnerLibrary.org, scroll to the bottom, and click on the little envelope icon to subscribe.

3. Visit our website often. Updates on Your Library Transformation are published in real-time, including photos, news releases, and donor recognition.

4. Follow all of our social media channels; Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn, and YouTube. Each publishes different information and messaging, so you won’t get redundant, boring posts coming through your feed. Search East Bonner County Library to find us.

5. If you have kids in your life, make sure they are signed up for an age-appropriate Summer Reading Chal-lenge, either by stopping in at one of the branch libraries or by visiting the Summer Youth Pro-grams Quick Link at eBonnerLibrary.org.

6. Check the calendar on the Events page of our website to make sure you don’t miss any of our summer events. You can get a print version from the Information Desk.

The Library is busy with a building project and building up our community. To us, Build A Better World isn’t just a seasonal slogan.
