Book online learning at your local library

| September 15, 2017 1:00 AM

Today is National Online Learning Day. What is that? It is a day to showcase the positive impacts on students, made possible through the ability to learn online. The purpose is to raise awareness and support for the continually growing community of students of all ages who learn online.

A quote from onlinelearningday.com reads, “Online learning provides convenience and personalization for every learner — from preschool through high school to college and beyond. Whether in a traditional, blended, or online classroom, online learners can broaden their horizons and achieve their goals.”

Online learners can study nearly any subject, acquire new skills and certifications, earn a diploma or degree, and explore virtually to make learning come alive.

The Library is a great place to try online learning. Free, unlimited Wi-Fi, internet computers, and knowledgeable reference staff will enhance the learning experience.

The Digital Library at eBonnerLibrary.org has some great digital and online learning tools for students and explorers. If you are new to digital learning, click on the green “Tutorials” tab on the right side of the website to learn how to use any of the tools in the Digital Library.

During this time of heavy construction at The Sandpoint Branch, we hope you won’t shy away. It is, however, comforting to know that you can get music, movies, games, and great reads without stepping inside The Library building. Just step inside the Digital Library.

Whe-ther you use the internet computers and free Wi-Fi inside The Sand-point or Clark Fork library buildings, or you launch your online learning adventure from the Digital Library, I hope you make the most of National Online Learning Day.
