Paul Heuvel and Peggy Loutzenhiser have been recognized by the West Bonner County School District as its November employees of the month.

The monthly award is part of a program to support and recognize outstanding employees. Employees — both certified and classified — who exemplify its district vision – “strive for greatness” — are nominated for the award. Each month, one certified employee and one classified employee are selected to be recognized by the public and are presented with awards donated by area businesses.

Heuvel, who was named the classified employee of the month for November, is the maintenance supervisor and has worked with the district for 19 years. He was nominated by multiple students “for always being a friendly face” and always willing to help out, whether it’s with a mess or just buying someone lunch.

“Thank you, Paul, for your hard work in our district,” Connie A. Kimble, Priest River Elementary principal, said in a press releaseon behalf of district officials in announcing the month’s awards.

A teacher in the West Bonner County School District for the past 16 years, Loutzenhiser was named the certified employee of the month for November. A longtime educator, Loutzenhiser is also the math coach at Priest River Elementary. She was nominated by the staff of Priest River Elementary for all of her hard work in that role.

“The staff claim that students at Priest River Elementary look forward to their math lessons and hardly a day goes by that Peggy doesn’t accomplish something great for this district,” Kimble said. “Thank you for your dedication to our district, Peggy.”

A gift certificate from Salon Marciahna was donated to both Heuvel and Loutzenhiser in honor of their commitment to the district, its students and the community.
