Dec. 16, 1968 — CRAMER WINS WINGS

Linda Louise Cramer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ken Cramer, Sandpoint, recently completed a five-week training course in Kansas City, Mo., and won her wings as an air hostess with Trans World Airlines. Prior to joining TWA, Miss Cramer attended North Idaho Junior College and was recently employed as secretary for the Panhandle District Health. She will be based in Chicago.

KATHY CANTRELL IN BOLIVIA

Kathy Cantrell, 23, of Sandpoint, is a big hit with the village folk in Korpa, Bolivia, where she is with the Peace Corps. Kathy, who has been in Korpa less than two years, plans to add another year before returning to the U.S. She is teaching the farmers to rise from a mere subsistence to a productivity that will allow them to market food, and is showing the 250 Korpa families, hard working Aymara Indians, how to use 20th century methods of seeds, fertilizers and farming.

SUNBURST DAIRY CHANGED HANDS

Sunburst Dairy, operated by Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lyons, West Selle road, has sold the dairy delivery business to Early Dawn Dairy several weeks ago. The Lyons operated the dairy about 10 years. At one time, they had their own dairy stock, but in recent years operated a milk route. The sale price was not disclosed and Lyons is continuing to drive for the new owners.

Pend d’Oreille Review

Dec. 16, 1918 — HELD AS POLICE TROOPS

It is unlikely that the old 2nd Idaho regiment will return to Idaho soon and it may be months, if not a year. They are now considered seasoned troops and may be held in Europe until the close of the peace negotiations, watching the Huns to see that they obey the terms of the armistice and do not attempt to again start hostilities.

Though official word has not been received, the impression prevails that they will be held with other veterans near the German border.

COUNTY BUYS OLD POWER PLANT

The old power plant building in the rear of the court house was purchased by the board of county commissioners from the Mountain States Power company at $1500 and a refund of the last half of the 1918 taxes. The building, assessed at $400, has been used recently for a garage for county automobiles and will be continued as a county garage and machine shop.

CITY BREVITIES

Dr. McKinnon arrived home Wednesday from Camp Funston. He was placed on the retired list as captain in the medical corps and it will not be necessary for him to return to active army service and he will resume his local practice.

The Priest River, Laclede and Bronx schools have been closed on account of the flu.
