Karen F. Bangeman, 70

Karen F. Bangeman, 70, passed away in Bremerton, Wash., on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019.

Memorial services will be conducted at 12 p.m. on Monday, December 30, 2019. The services will be held in Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel, Dale Coffelt will be officiating. A celebration of Karen’s life will be planned later this spring. Burial will be in Pinecrest Memorial Park.

Karen weas born in Sandpoint on December 16, 1948, the daughter of Raymond and Nadine Walson. She attended both Lincoln and Washington school, graduating from Sandpoint High School in 1967. She became a certified nursing assistant, working at the Sandpoint Manor.

On August 8, 1970, she married Edd Bangeman in Sandpoint, Idaho. She attended Olympic College, in Bremerton, becoming a registered nurse. She would later live in Virginia and Connecticut, moving back to Bremerton in 1985. She was a geriatric specialist, R.N., county nurse working in an assisted living facility; retiring in 1998.

She would break and ride her appaloosa horses on trail rides. She loved to fish, pick oysters and clams and sewing. She also enjoyed photography, always catching the perfect pose, or childhood prank. She loved her little nieces and nephews, hugging and kissing them until they could squirm away. She loved to can, especially pickled beets.

Survivors include her husband, Edd Bangeman in Bremerton; children, Salida Bangeman, and Matthew Bangeman; grandson, Dakota; and great-granddaughter, Ali Rowena. Also surviving are her siblings, Jann Roberts, Brian Walson. Bruce Walson, and Lorry Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Ed Walson.
