SANDPOINT — A champion was crowned on Saturday at The Idaho Club.

Alfred Raja, a sophomore from Oregon State University, won the 119th Pacific Northwest Men's Amateur Championship. He defeated Jordan Lee, a junior from Western Washington University, 2-and-1 in the 36-hole final match.

Saturday's match wrapped up the six-day tournament put on by the Pacific Northwest Golf Association. The championship started with 36 holes of stroke play last Monday and Tuesday. The field was cut down to 64 players after that and 18-hole single elimination match play was held Wednesday through Friday. It all concluded Saturday with the championship match between Raja and Lee.

Raja, who is originally from Indonesia, surged out to a 5-up lead after 18 holes, but Lee fought back to pull within one. Raja won three of the last six holes and closed out the victory on the 17th hole at The Idaho Club.
