Sandpoint Medical Massage and Bodyworks is offering by-donation classes this month with the goal to raise $500 to support the National Alliance for Mental Illness.

The first class, “Seat of the Heart Meditation,” will be held today (Wednesday) at 6 p.m. by Jade Stevens.

The hour-long meditation is meant to help “connect with the four chambers of the heart,” to help participants let go of anxiety and fear, according to the press release.

The next class, “Full Moon Alignment Meditation,” is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Thursday, June 24. Anne Baggenstoss will be teaching meditation and gentle breathwork exercises for regulating and soothing the nervous system.

At 5:30 on Wednesday, June 30, Kirsten Longmeier will teach "Loving Touch For Your Nervous System,” an hour-long workshop “holds and techniques to stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system to help aid restfulness and connection.” The class is open to all ages.

Attendants are asked to RSVP by emailing sandpointmedmassage@gmail.com if they plan to attend any of these classes.

“We ask that you donate whatever is meaningful and financially viable for you even if it is $1,” wrote Alyssa DuVall, design and organizational consultant. “These donations will go towards our NAMI.”

In addition to the by-donation classes, $5 of every 90-minute massage and 60-minute CranioSacral session will be donated to NAMI, according to a press release.
