ST. MARIES — St. Maries (13-2) completed a season sweep of Priest River boys basketball on Tuesday night.

The Lumberjacks handed the Spartans a 73-50 nonleague defeat and held Priest River to 13 points in the second half.

"We played terrible defense and it showed," head coach Jaden Barrett, who was unable to attend the game in-person, said. "We were down seven at the half after shooting the ball almost 60% in the first half."

Trentyn Kreager scored 17 points — all in the first half — for Priest River. Luke Butler tallied 14 points, Nadin Thompson had 7 and Zach Engelson 6.

The team played without seniors Travis Mathews and Blake Barrett.

Priest River (8-7) hosts Timberlake at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Bonners Ferry at 7 p.m. Monday.
