ANNUAL CITY-COUNTRY COACHES BALL GAME
Coaches who worked with Bonner County youth this summer recently played in the annual city-country ball game. City players were Bob Camp, Don Lynch, Terry DeMers, Dave Self, Buck Clark, Bob Schoonover, Terry Chaffee, Paul Reno, Gary Skalsky, Steve Erickson, Terry Clay and Doug Moran. Not present were coaches Jack Raynor, Ron Book, Gary Reasor, Daymond Forrell and Alvin Kluver. Country coaches playing were Bud Dunn, Bill Fournier, Frank Travers, Ralph Crabb, Vern Schultz, Earl Maurer, Art Rosholt, Don Johnson, Howard Converse, Ralph Hawkins, Jim Reed, Jerry Vandenburg, Leroy Brown and Cliff Irish.

LITTLE LEAGUE CHAMPS
The Northside Cougars won the Little League tournament Friday night from the Sagle Moose by a score of 15-4. Cougar players are Bobby Van Den Berg, Todd Van Den Berg, Steve Clark, Ronnie Mead, Kent Roberts, Wayne Schulze, David Burns, Ronnie Shadel, Chris Merkley, Tom Syth and Ray Kopcke. Assistant coaches are Marvin Roberts and Vern Schulze. Coach is Jerry Van Den Berg, who received a trophy from his team enscribed “To A Great Coach.”

July 28, 1922 – LOCAL MENTION
J.D. Collins, who has charge of the work on the Bottle Bay road under the independent road district, states that the work is progressing very nicely. The crew is working toward the Sandpoint end and are almost half way.
Mr. and Mrs. L.D. McFarland left last Monday for a five weeks’ eastern trip. They plan to arrive at Mrs. McFarland’s old home town in Michigan in time to be present at the reunion of her family, while Mr. McFarland will go on to Pittsburg on a business trip.
People who visited the Boy Scout camp at Midas last Sunday, and there were many, are enthusiastic in their praise of the camp. There were 36 scouts there all last week.

LAKE SQUALL HURRIES BOATS TO SHELTER
The threatened storm Tuesday afternoon raised a squall on the lake which drove water crafts to shore in a hurry. A Northern Navigation barge was driven down against the Northern Pacific bridge, while Dr. T.J. Peet, who had started up the lake with a launch load of supplies, was driven far out of his course and delayed several hours.

CORNER OF FIRST AND LAKE CHOSEN
The Weil lots, at the corner of First and Lake streets, have been selected as the site for the new American Legion Memorial hall. The newly selected site will cost about $3200. There is a small dwelling on the property from the sale of which $500 may be realized.
