PR wrestling places three at state

POCATELLO — The Priest River wrestling team had three state placers at the 3A Idaho state wrestling tournament on Feb. 25-26.

Colm McLaimtaig placed fifth at 106-pounds.

McLaimtaig won his first two matches before falling to Koller Burton of American Falls.

McLaimtaig pinned Jaden Lerwill in the fifth and sixth place finals.

At 126, Keith Porier placed sixth after losing in the fifth and sixth place match to Buhl’s Julian Ruiz 19-7.

Finally, Matyus McLain finished in sixth place at 195-pounds.

He lost in his quarterfinals match to WIlly Haun of Homedale 17-3.

He then went on a two-match winning streak before losing to South Fremont’s Kash Purser.

He got pinned in his fifth and sixth place match against Weiser’s Kaleb Grove.
