Sandpoint Legacy Wrestling club has several placers in Butte

Sandpoint’s Legacy Wrestling Club competed at the Cyclops tournament in Butte, MT over President’s Day Weekend.

The tournament started off with the 10U and under divisions wrestling Saturday.

Clarissa Birch finished sixth in the Girls Bantam 50-pound class. Vance Zeretzke also finished sixth in his 50-pound Tot class.

In the Midget division Dalton Reghr and Beau Cates finished in first place.

Rehgr took home the gold at 75 pounds and Cates placed first at 85 pounds.

On Sunday, the older kids took over the Butte Civic Center for their half of the tournament. Legacy had ten kids wrestling in the second session with seven placers.

In the Novice division, Tyler Wood finished sixth at 75 pounds. Maxx Watson placed fifth at 80 pounds. Zak Wood took third in the 85-pound class and Summer Birch finished second in the Girls Novice 85-pound class.

The Legacy Wrestling Club’s schoolgirl wrestlers each came home with gold medals.

Vanessa Hood in the 85-90 class, and Nevaeh Therrien in the 95-100 class.

In his first tournament with the team, Jackson Holman finished fifth in the 182-pound Cadet class.
