Dover sponsors a new event

DOVER – Cooling temperatures and leaves changing colors mean fall is on it’s and with it comes a brand new event to the city of Dover – The Harvest Festival.

On Saturday, Oct., 1 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., the city is inviting the community to come together and enjoy seasonal harvests from local vendors. With the goal of shining a light on the city and the community of Dover, the event is sponsored and hosted by the city.

“{The city] wanted to do this for the community,” city finance manager Robin Pilkington, who is spearheading the event, said.

Festival-goers can expect to see a number of vendor booths from soaps and lotions, to leather workings and pastries at the event. However, Pilkington said that although invitations have been sent to all the businesses in Dover that have a registered business license, there is still room for more.

With the vendor spaces being free, Pilkington said that any crafter, farmer, food vendor, or small business in Bonner County is welcome to apply as she would like to have a lot of vendors for the festival's inaugural year.

Wanting a well-rounded festival, Pilkington said that in addition to local craft, and food vendors the invitation extends to local organizations such as the Westside Fire District and the Dover Historical Committee, which will be debuting updated historical information about the city.

Vendors wishing to apply can contact city clerk Tiffany Camp at 208-265-8339 or apply online at bit.ly/3KXZIWD.
