Our youth should be able to think for themselves

Scott Herndon in his recent Notes From Boise column in the Bonner County Bee bragged that the Idaho Senate really seized the day during the 2023 legislative session. That's hardly what Robin Williams had in mind when he told his beloved students "Carpe Diem" in "The Dead Poets Society”.

Williams in fact exhorted his young men to think for themselves and express what they thought and felt even though if might have been unpopular to some.

Don't we all want our children and students to think for themselves and become thoughtful and caring adults?
