Sandpoint Sharks kick off summer season at YMCA

SANDPOINT — On Friday, May 5, the Sandpoint Sharks defeated the Sandpoint Middle School Bullpups in an inter-squad friendly, the Bullpup Invitational, at the Litehouse YMCA.
Both Sandpoint teams put up some great performances, especially the newly formed Sandpoint Middle School Bullpups swim team. The grade level of the athletes competing ranged from fourth to 11th grade.
The Sandpoint Sharks, led by former assistant coach and now head coach Emily Renzini, are gearing up for their official outdoor season with meets in Lewiston, Spokane and the Tri-Cities, Wash.
The Sharks will head to Lewiston for their first long course event of the season, the 2023 IE LCN Fazzari's Pizza Open at Orchards Pool on May 19-21. Athletes will swim in events ranging from 50 meters to one mile.
