Area residents are invited to be a part of the spirited fun as Kaniksu Land Trust hosts its “Spooky Walk” fun at the Pine Street Woods today.

The Sandpoint-based land trust continually comes up with fun, innovative ways to serve the community. Today’s “Spooky Spirits & Stories — A Mystifying Walk in the Woods” is its latest endeavor.

The Spooky Walk will be held at Pine Street Woods at 7 p.m. tonight. It will be a family-friendly guided walk through the Pine Street Woods. During the walk, participants will be told an original tale that “weaves earthly elements with supernatural frights,” according to a KLT Instagram post.

This event is meant to be a community affair and put on for the enjoyment of everyone, land trust officials said. One of the many missions of Kaniksu Land Trust is to make getting people outside and in nature accessible to everyone.

“The Spooky Walk is meant to be a frightfully fun way for the community to come together,” she said. “This event will delight young and old, and highlight the mystical powers of nature.”

With the temperature beginning to drop, KLT has warned those planning to attend the event to dress warmly and invited participants to stick around for hot cocoa and cider afterward. The event will be free but donations are welcome.

“We wanted this to be open and available to everybody, no matter if they could donate or not,” KLT executive director Katie Cox said.
