'Found Fragments' showcases fine art collage, assemblage

| April 4, 2024 1:00 AM

Often associated with craft and DIY projects, the Pend Oreille Arts Council's newest exhibit takes the art form to a whole new level.

The POAC Gallery is hosting its newest exhibit, "Found Fragments," centered around the art form and highlighting the artwork of Daryl and Judy Baird, Molly Gentry, Audrey Milch, and Teresa Rancourt. This thought-provoking collection of fine art collage and assemblage pieces will be on display April 5-30. An opening reception is being held Friday, April 5, from 5 to 7 p.m.

POAC officials said the "Found Fragments" exhibit aims to challenge that perception by showcasing the elevated and intricate nature of fine art collage and assemblage. The works in this exhibition demonstrate a deeper exploration of composition, texture, and concept than your typical “vision board” collage.
