SANDPOINT — Rowan Davis scored an around-the-crease goal with three seconds remaining — her fifth goal of the contest to help propel the Bulldogs to a 9-7 win over Gonzaga Prep at War Memorial Field on Wednesday.
After an even first half, Sandpoint pulled away in the third quarter to take a 7-3 lead. The Bullpups, however, went on a 4-1 run in the fourth quarter and trailed by just one with three minutes remaining.
“It was scary there for a while in the fourth quarter,” head coach Nancy Dooley said. “Once we got the ball back, we held on to it for three minutes and then Rowan scored that sweet shot around the crease to seal the deal.”
