PREP TRACK & FIELD: Sandpoint girls take home team title from Priest River Invite

PRIEST RIVER — Ivy Smith won the shot put and the discus throw, Sienna Todd-Murray the 400 and the 1600, as the Lady Bulldogs were crowned champions of the 27th annual Priest River Invitational on Saturday.

Also picking up individual victories for Sandpoint were Ayla Hull (200), Devin McDaniel (pole vault), Ani Vick (100 hurdles), Jetta Thaete (javelin), and Elia Howard (long jump). Priest River’s Kylee Swoboda won the high jump and the Spartans’ 800-meter sprint medley relay consisting of Haley Braae, Ashlyn Korff, Swoboda and Chase Smith took home gold. Clark Fork’s Olivia Yetter won the 300 hurdles.

On the boys’ side, Sandpoint took home four individual victories: Jett Longanecker (200), Kasten Grimm (800), Torin Haesle (1600), and Klein Fragoso (pole vault). Brayden Lamanna won the 3200 for Priest River. Clark Fork’s Wyatt Mintken, Dillon Ryan-Downing, Carson Yetter, and Westin Caven won the 1600-meter sprint medley relay in a new school record time of 4:01.01.
