Melanie Snider, 65

Melanie Ann Snider, 65, passed away at her home in Dover, Idaho, on Monday, March 25, 2024.

Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 17, 2024, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Rob Cook officiating.

Melanie was born May 7, 1958, in Albany, N.Y., to William and Margaret Davidson. She graduated from Union Endicott High School in 1976, where she excelled in academics and athletics. She earned her bachelor's degree in accounting from SUNY Brockport in New York. 

Melanie worked as a stockbroker in New York City for 10 years, before relocating to San Francisco, where she worked for Robertson Stephens and Company. 

Melanie married Rick Snider on Aug. 28, 1993, in San Francisco. They made their home in Sonoma and raised their daughter Julia. In 2002 they moved to Sandpoint and Melanie worked for Dover Bay Management. 

She is a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. She loved everything about Christmas and quilting. She also enjoyed her pets, shopping and reading Harry Potter with Julia.

Melanie is survived by her daughter, Julia Snider, and her husband, Matt Kissinger, of San Jose, Calif.; son Zach Snider and his wife, Grisel Puig-Snider, of Los Osos, Calif.; three grandchildren Alexander, Ysabel, and Aidan; and one sister Dawn Burchette of Timberlake, N.C.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Rick Snider, and brother William Davidson.
