PONDERAY — The Lake Pend Oreille School District board of trustees could adopt a new middle school social studies curriculum, among other items, at its meeting Tuesday.

Action items during the meeting will include an off-site prom request from Clark Fork Jr./Sr. High School, a request for permission to surplus a 2006 Ford F350 and a 1998 utility truck, an audit request for proposal recommendation, and the approval of a Securing Our Future grant scope. Following their second reading, board members will also take action on a new English Learners Program policy.

During first readings, the school board will examine reviews of elementary attendance and truancy policies, as well as revisions to school restrooms and changing facility access and overnight lodging policies. The board is also scheduled to consider a new cybersecurity and data breach response policy.

The board will go into executive session to consider the “evaluation, dismissal or disciplining of, or to hear complaints or charges brought against, a public officer, employee, staff member or individual agent, or public school student,” LPOSD officials said on the meeting’s agenda.

The board will also observe student presentations from Southside Elementary and Lake Pend Oreille Alternative High School, and updates from Matt Brass, LPOSD technology director; Brian Wallace, LPOSD chief finance officer; and Superintendent Dr. Becky Meyer. Jeralyn Mire, Sandpoint High School post-secondary transition counselor, will also present on scholarship opportunities. Dr. Joy Jansen, director of “Services for Exceptional Children” will be offering a data overview.

The meeting will take place today at 5 p.m. at the LPOSD District Office, 901 Triangle Drive, Ponderay.
